Refund Policy

This policy covers refunds for Pay-Per-Use Total Care Cost search purchases and legacy subscription plans on MyCareCost.
1. Pay-Per-Use (PPU) Total Care Cost Searches
PPU purchases are one-time payments for Total Care Cost search credits processed through Stripe. The following refund rules apply:
- UNUSED CREDITS: If you have not used any credits from a purchase, you may request a full refund within 30 days of the purchase date by contacting [email protected]. Include the email address associated with your account and the approximate purchase date.
- PARTIALLY USED CREDITS: If you have used some but not all credits from a purchase, you may request a refund for the unused portion within 30 days. The refund will be calculated as the per-credit cost multiplied by the number of unused credits. Used credits are non-refundable.
- FULLY USED CREDITS: Credits that have been used to perform a Total Care Cost search are non-refundable. Once a search is initiated and a cost estimate is generated, that credit is considered consumed.
- BONUS CREDITS: Bonus credits received through promotions (e.g., buy 5 get 1 free) are non-refundable and will be forfeited if the qualifying purchase is refunded.
- REFUND METHOD: All refunds are issued to the original payment method (credit card, debit card, etc.) and typically appear within 5–10 business days depending on your financial institution.
- AFTER 30 DAYS: Refund requests submitted more than 30 days after purchase will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis at MyCareCost’s discretion.
2. Legacy Subscriptions (Premium & Ultra)
For existing subscribers on legacy recurring plans:
- Refunds for legacy subscriptions are issued at MyCareCost’s sole discretion.
- We do not provide prorated refunds for partial billing periods unless required by applicable law.
- You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period—you retain access to paid features until then.
- If you believe you were charged in error, contact [email protected] within 30 days of the charge.
3. Disputed Charges & Chargebacks
If you believe a charge is unauthorized or incorrect, please contact us at [email protected] before initiating a chargeback with your bank. We can typically resolve billing issues faster through direct communication. Filing a chargeback may result in temporary suspension of your account until the dispute is resolved.
4. No Guarantee of Savings or Results
Total Care Cost estimates are generated from publicly available hospital pricing data and are for informational purposes only. A purchased search may not identify savings opportunities for every procedure or in every geographic area. The absence of useful results does not constitute grounds for a refund if the search was successfully performed and the estimate was delivered.
5. How to Request a Refund
- Email [email protected] with the subject line “Refund Request.”
- Include the email address on your MyCareCost account.
- Describe which purchase you are requesting a refund for (date, tier, pack size).
- We will respond within 3 business days to confirm eligibility and process your refund.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund Policy periodically. The “Last updated” date reflects the latest revision. For material changes, we will notify registered users via email at least 30 days before the changes take effect.
