About Us
MyCareCost exists so anyone can see what hospitals actually charge—not estimates from a phone tree, but prices pulled from the machine-readable files hospitals are required to publish under federal transparency rules.
Our mission
Healthcare pricing is confusing by design. We believe you should be able to compare real, facility-specific prices the same way you compare anything else—before you commit. We collect, normalize, and surface that data so you can make informed decisions with your doctor and your budget.
What we do
You can search by procedure name or billing code, set your location, and compare hospitals side by side. We also publish procedure and location landing pages where we have enough data to be useful—so you can explore typical price ranges and drill into cities and states.

We do not store personal health information. Prices come from public hospital files; listings show freshness and source context where available. For more detail on how we score files and handle updates, see our methodology and FAQ.
Who we are
MyCareCost is built by a small team focused on consumer-friendly healthcare price tools. We are independent—we are not a hospital or insurer—and we are motivated by the idea that transparency only helps when real people can actually use it.
We publish educational guides for uninsured patients, insured patients, Medicare users, patient advocates, and anyone trying to make sense of hospital pricing before care.
